Alex maclean's work
Alex's photos inspired me to want to take more aerial photographs. His photos are fantastic and I like that he chooses all different subjects to capture. His photos communicate everyday life and the simplicity of the world around us. The photo that really stood out to me was this photo of the beach. The photo is taken from the air, but doesn't really follow the rule of thirds. However it is balanced, because there are equal areas with no umbrellas on either sides while there is an equal area in the middle with open umbrellas. There is a clear focus in the photo, the umbrellas, while the background, the sand, keeps your mind focused on the umbrellas. Having the image horizontal, gave it a sense of length and I believe this is an effective direction. There is a great sense of line and it leads your eye throughout the whole piece.
