My backdrop
I was able to create my backdrop using round cutouts of book pages and rolled up balls of tissue paper. I taped four small cardboard posters together and pasted all the book pages to the board first. Then I cut out circles of tissue paper to indicate where the tissue paper bunches would go. The texture and elements of design and variety worked well for the backdrop. If I could change anything about my backdrop I would have used a different glue because the glue I used dried and warped the posters.
My photos
I took several of the photos of me and the backdrop and others of just the backdrop. The most successful photo was the second to last one. It is taken at an angle with the macro function. It captures the words on the book pages, the shape of the pages, and the texture of the tissue paper. I created the backdrop and I am also the subject of the portraits which connects me to the backdrops and connects us in the photos. Creating the backdrop made a more artistic yet sophisticated background for the photos.
